Signed the lease on my first big-girl Brooklyn apartment tonight!! It’s a great feeling. Right up there with getting a job—almost.
This is the living room (and the other side of it with a coat closet), the kitchen, bathroom and my room (maybe, but they all look like this). I’m living with my friend Cori, the former managing stylist of G&B, and Alex, my friend Tali’s roommate Georgia’s childhood friend who is an actor and (now!) server at Sarabeth’s in Central Park (“You’ve Got Mail” restaurant I believe). The apartment is completely renovated. We’re the first to live in it post-renovations. The kitchen and bathroom and everything are all new. I unwrapped the fridge. Recessed lighting. But my favorite part is the flooring—you can see how many times the apartment has changed over time. The floors have real character and no real pattern. They’re gorgeous and lend that history I love. The building is from the late 1800s, and we’re a block from express trains into Manhattan, 30 mins from the Rockaways (the non-Coney-Island pretty beaches) and one stop from the Brooklyn Target. It’s a fairly young area in Prospect Heights with bars, coffee shops, etc.
I’m pleased.
Now I just need a bed!
And a j-o-b.

P.S. BEST best part? Good price.
